DINGHY TEAM
THE TEAM
The College of Charleston’s Dinghy Sailing Program provides student-athletes with the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level of collegiate sailing in 420s and FJs.
As a varsity program, our Dinghy Sailing Program is treated like any other varsity team at the College. Student-athletes participate in mandatory team workouts, practices, competitions, and other responsibilities expected of varsity athletes, including maintaining a strong academic record. Sailors are expected to compete year-round, with racing and training opportunities throughout both the fall and spring seasons.
Sailors also have access to the resources and benefits available to College of Charleston varsity athletes, including preferred class registration, academic support through the Athletic Department, access to personal trainers for fitness and injury prevention, and a well-funded travel and training program.
The College of Charleston Sailing Program competes under the governance of the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) and is a member of the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (SAISA) district.
Interested in learning more about the program or visiting the College of Charleston? Please contact Head Coach Conner Blouin to arrange a visit or discuss opportunities with the team. Prospective sailors are encouraged to include a sailing résumé with their initial correspondence.
